Our answer to the Stamp Duty Holiday Extension
In the Chancellors 2021 budget announcement it was confirmed that the Stamp Duty Land Tax holiday will be extended until 30th June 2021, which is great news if you are moving home right now!
Rishi announced that the £500,000 nil rate band will remain in place until 30th June, giving buyers more time to complete with the holiday, past the original date of 31st March.
After this date, “to smooth the transition back to normal,” the threshold will be reduced to £250,000 until 30 September. The stamp duty nil rate band will then return to its previous nil rate band of £125,000 from 1st October.
